1. Ladakh

You will find some of the rarest varieties of cactus plants and orchids in many of Kalimpong’s beautiful plant nurseries. Deolo Hill, one of the two hills that Kalimpong stands between with the other being Durpin, is the highest point of the town. Snow-clad mountains of Western Sikkim can be seen from here and the panoramic view is awe-inspiring. A park atop the hill is picturesque and houses exotic flowers. Zong Dog Palri which is an ancient Buddhist monastery, and Crockety, a British cottage with beautiful gardens, are other places of interest. When in Kalimpong, do not miss out on sumptuous Chinese food and elegant local merchandise.

3. Tawang

Situated about 10,000 ft above sea level, Tawang is a place for nature lovers. There are two options to reach this town from Assam as the Tezu Airport in Arunachal Pradesh is still not operational. You can take a direct helicopter ride from Guwahati or by travel by road from Tezpur with the latter being a more exciting option. The road trip is 345 km long and will require a night halt as it takes about 12 hours to cover this distance on the mountainous route. The journey will be enriching though as you will be greeted by pristine rivers, snow-clad mountains, and amazing landscapes. The Nameri Tiger Reserve is the best place for an overnight stay. Once in Tawang, visit the majestic Nuraneng falls, the breathtaking Sela Pass & Lake, the historic The Jaswant Singh Garh War Memorial, and the revered Tawang Monastery.

A series of hills located in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh is one of the most scenic places on the South India tours. The drive to Horsley hills is as picturesque as the destination. A wide variety of trees en route including Gulmohar, Eucalyptus, and Sandalwood will make you feel rejuvenated. The local name of the area is Yenugu Mallama Konda while the name Horsley comes from WD Horsley, a British collector who built his home in the region in the year 1870. The place is also called ‘Andhra ooty’ as it is the state’s only hill station. Gali Bandalu (Wind Rocks) is a rocky slope popular for gusty winds while View Point offers majestic views of the entire valley, forests, and hill rocks. Adventure sports like zorbing, rappelling, rock climbing and trekking are popular choices among travelers.

In the lap of Banasura hills is a dam by the same name that attracts a lot of tourists due to its beautiful surroundings. Pookot Lake is a freshwater lake worth visiting. Campers and mountaineers have Chembra peak to look forward to while Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary is famous for its landscape and animals. The famous Nagarhole National Park, which is located about 64 km from Wayanad, is worth visiting.
